What are Dark Knight’s and How Do They Work?

Dark Knight’s are a potent combination of Viagra (sildenafil), Cialis (tadalafil), and Levitra (vardenafil) designed to help combat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men by working quickly while maintaining the ability to produce a stronger erection for extended periods.  Erectile dysfunction is extremely common in men, and it is estimated that over 3 million men in Canada over the age of 40 suffer from it.  All three drugs in this combination pill have the ability to produce and maintain erections where blood flow is the issue by relaxing the smooth muscle to the penis; Weak blood flow equals weak erection, therefore, increasing the blood flow will result in a stronger, better quality erection and an increase in the ability to maintain it.  However, if the issue lies in a hormone imbalance, this medication may not remedy the ED issue and an alternate treatment should be considered.

These three compounds differ mainly by the drug’s active life. Levitra has the shortest half-life of 4 hours which makes it the quickest acting of the tree compounds.  Viagra has a half life of approximately 4-6 hours, and Cialis has a half-life of approximately 18 hours, resulting in the effects being felt for much longer than by taking Viagra/Levitra alone.  By combining the three medications, effects will be felt extremely quickly but will also last for up to 36 hours due to the addition of Cialis.  Additional doses may be required depending on each individuals needs. 

All three compounds belong to a class of drugs known as PED5 inhibitors, which means they will not produce an erection on their own; Sexual stimulation must still be obtained in order to produce an erection.  PED5 inhibitors do not have an effect on libido.  Sexual arousal must still be achieved in order to obtain an erection.  

PLEASE NOTE: this drug does NOT protect against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis, etc.).  It is recommended that an alternate form of protection, such as latex condoms, is also used to prevent pregnancy and transmission of STD’s.

What is the recommended dosage?

This medication is taken by mouth, with or without food.  Most men find it adequate to take 1-2 Dark Knight’s approximately 30 minutes prior to anticipated sexual activity.  The dosage is based on each individual’s medical condition, and any questions or concerns should be directed to a physician. Additional doses may be required depending on each individual’s needs.
